The rain in Central Texas has been a blessing for the area's drought-stricken land, but sometimes it can come down too much and too fast. This is the case at
Confederate Reunion Grounds State Historic Site, which was pounded with rain the past several days. The site is currently closed, but hopes to be open for Saturday's Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail launch. The launch will include an official ribbon cutting, canoe demonstrations from Gander Mountain and a maiden voyage down the Navasota River.
At least all of this rain should make for good paddling and a lush setting this summer.

Confederate Reunion Grounds is located 45 miles east of Waco in the
Texas Brazos Trail Region.
