This week, the THC welcomed a new addition to the San Felipe State Historic Site. The Friends of San Felipe State Historic Site donated the historic J.J. Josey Store building to the THC after managing it for more than 40 years. The 1840s building was relocated to the site in the 1970s and served as the site's museum. The THC plans to use the building as an interim visitor center while developing the site. Approximately 40 people took part in the official transfer ceremony and the Friends president noted the importance of partnering with the THC to develop the site into a noteworthy Texas heritage attraction.
